color trends

This summer, the trend has definitely been color. Perhaps this is in reaction to the morose economic situation worldwide. Designers have gone above and beyond to provide gorgeous fabrics and colors: Hues of blues, purples, pinks, greens, corals and yellows.  If you are like me, color changes my mood and brightens my perspective.

The trend continues this fall. The color trends for fall 2011 are bright, deep, rich and luscious.

No need to purchase an entire new wardrobe, shop in your closet first, start by using the neutrals in your wardrobe, black, tan, gray or navy and add a pop of color with a statement necklace, a scarf, a colorful cardigan or a bright new bag.

Color blocking will also be a big trend this fall and winter. If you have not done this before, keep it in the same tone by mixing different reds together, pinks or blues. Tone it down with a neutral color, a statement necklace, a bag or a belt. As shown, you can also find garments who will already have color blocking.

If you want to be bold, you can wear opposite colors but not more than 2 to 3 colors at a time. So, what colors will you be wearing this fall?
