Your Boots are Made for Walking

It’s definitely boot season and boot weather

What is most important to you when purchasing a pair of boots?

When shopping with my clients, this is something I walk them through.

A few things to consider;

= What style best suits your wardrobe?

Are you classic or casual? Will you be wearing them with tucked in jeans or dresses? The heel you choose will give the boot its formality and functionality. For instance, one of my clients has a very traditional style but casual, so she chose riding boots.

= What quality do you want to purchase?

Some of my clients find that synthetic is not always comfortable for their legs and feet. They prefer either leather or suede which is more flexible and breathable.

If you are very casual and out and about all day like one of my realtor clients, she opted for a waterproof leather which suits her needs perfectly.

= What price range can you afford?

We can’t always buy several pairs of boots. You may be sending your son off to college or having to buy a new car. We need to shop wisely

If you want leather boots, pre-shop for them, you can find good buys late fall.

Exercise Is Beneficial To Your Skin

Exercise is beneficial to your skin

You already know that exercise is good for your body but did you know exercise is beneficial to your skin? That’s right: Provided that you stay hydrated and, always wear sunscreen, a regular workout can do wonders on your complexion. “We tend to focus on the cardiovascular benefits of physical activity, and those are important. But anything that promotes healthy circulation also helps keep your skin healthy and vibrant,” says dermatologist Ellen Marmur, MD, author of Simple Skin . Here are three ways exercise makes skin more radiant and healthy-looking:

1. Exercise cleanses your skin from the inside out

A good, sweaty workout gets your heart pumping, which boosts circulation and blood flow. That, in turn, nourishes skin cells. Plus, the increased blood flow delivers reparative nutrients to your skin and increases collagen production. Improved circulation aids in the removal of cellular debris, free radicals and toxins.

2. Exercise helps clear clogged pores

Sweat and heat open your pores, making it easier to expel debris like dirt and oil, kind of like getting your face steamed during a facial. Just be sure to remove your makeup  before working out and wash your face immediately afterward to keep that pore-clogging gunk from sinking right back in.

3. Exercise helps you de-stress and sleep better

When you are tired and stressed, your face reflects it. That might mean waking up with dark undereye circles or puffiness, dull skin or acne breakouts. Regular exercise can lower your levels of the “stress hormone” Cortisol. Studies show that regular exercise can also ease insomnia.  So you may finally start waking up with the great skin you’ve always dreamed about.
With a consistent workout regimen and a consistent skincare Regimen your skin will look better than ever. Best of all, with both skincare and exercise, it’s never too late to start!

Clothing Affects Your Confidence

 Clothing Affects Your Confidence

It easy to see how Clothing affects your confidence: I have always been fascinated by the Psychology of clothing. When people say that fashion and clothing are superficial, they are really saying that they have never experienced the benefits of being well dressed; A Better job, a promotion, higher salary…

I love people watching, after all being French, it’s in my DNA. You sit at a cafe and watch people stroll by. You can tell a lot about people, by the way they dress and present themselves. Today, we often mistake comfort for sloppiness. The German philosopher Hermann Lotze was the first to link behavior to dress in his book “Microcosmus” an essay concerning man and his relation to the world in 1856. In this book, Hermann Lotze stipulates that a person’s attitude is a direct reflection of the sensation he gets from his clothing. Men feel more powerful wearing suits and women feel more feminine wearing chiffon dresses for example. Read the rest of this entry

Find the Perfect Moto Jacket

model jacket

This season, Motorcycle Jackets have become very cool, with fresh colors, zippers, studs and contrasting sleeves.

The Moto Jacket will add interest to any outfit. It is often worn open and fitted. However, as with any jacket, make sure when purchasing it that you are able to close it, without it looking too tight.

You can find them in rich leather but also faux leathers equally chic and less costly. Be careful with “plastic” looking fabrics. They are not attractive, look cheap and do not wear well.

Marlon Brando made the black leather and jeans iconic in 1953. The Moto Jacket has a masculine look so it could be paired with more feminine and luxurious fabrics such as chiffon, velvet, brocade and silk.

There are many varieties, colors and textures. Choose a jacket to suit your personality and existing wardrobe.

Swimsuit for your Body Type

Main photo

Shopping for the best swimsuit for your body type can be a nightmare. Of course we want it all, to look great, feel confident and sexy. You can accomplish this with a little patience and a few tips. The indications below are for women of all sizes whether you are small, average or plus size.

The goal is to balance your figure to be in proportion.

IF YOU ARE A TRIANGLE SHAPE, your hips are larger than your top.

Avoid a one piece, monochromatic bathing suit that will accentuate this shape. Instead you will want to enhance the top and play down the bottom to balance out your shape.

Opt for a halter top,  bandeau or V neck with embellishment, ruffles, ruching, pattern or underwire to create the appearance of a fuller bust.

The bottom should be simple and a dark color. A high cut will elongate your leg and a low cut will camouflage your hips. This really depends on your size and height. Read the rest of this entry
